About the Project

The Table Set is the most versatile build in the collection. One oil drum becomes the bar-height table base, two more become stools with proper backrests and padded seats. When you're done, the stools slide underneath the table and the whole thing takes up no more floor than a single drum.

Difficulty: Easy — a weekend project. Welding required for the stool frames.

Budget estimate: Around €X total — kit, drums, and paint.

Time: Around 12–16 hours total. Most builders finish it in a weekend.

Tools needed: MIG welder, angle grinder (flap disc and cutting disc), scissors, sandpaper, paint gear (brush, roller, or spray can).

Skills used: Tracing and cutting metal with an angle grinder, MIG welding, upholstery assembly, painting.

Build phases:

- Trace the backrest template onto the drums and mark cut lines
- Cut the stool bodies and table drum with an angle grinder
- Weld the stool leg frames and backrest supports
- Grind, sand, and prep all surfaces
- Paint the drums and frames
- Assemble the padded seats — plywood, foam, and leather
- Apply edge banding and mount the seats

Whether you build it yourself or order it finished, the work behind it is the same. Every cut, weld, and upholstery detail is done by hand. The stools have to fit underneath the table clean — and that's where the craft is.
